VIVA LA BOITJIES!! Another win against the Saints...

Team NikeFive sent out a loud warning to the rest of the First League teams by winning the much anticipated match against last years' Brackenfell First League Champions, The Saints. Not even the presence of "Puma Kuit" or "that dude from Dwergies" could deter the composure of Team NikeFIVE!


It was a well oiled NikeFIVE machine that took the field at 21:15 on Monday night. Offensive defence was the order for the night and a big can of NikeFIVE commitment was opened just before kick-off. There was no space for the big guns that The Saints bolstered, and every attempt that they made at attacking the Team NikeFIVE try line was shattered by bone crunching touches by Team NikeFIVE's own honey badger, Jak Erasmus. The in your face defence from Team NikeFIVE meant that The Saints slowly started making mistakes. Guy Lipschitz was all to happy to capatalize on one of these mistakes shortly before half time and tore down the side line, kicking dust into the eyes of those that were treading behind him. It was a truly sorry affair to see "Puma Kuit" realising that he, after all, was not that quick... even after chasing the Pocket Rocket the lenth of the field! Shame.

The end result was much closer than what it should have been at 4-2, since the ref was all to happy to help the Saints team to their two tries and not awarding a couple to the boys in blue. Despite this, Team NikeFIVE showed great composure and an even greater set off teeth on defence, keeping the chit-chat to the footy pitch... and not on the side lines! Congrats boys!!

Then, after the match, it was a memorable moment to see the first "OMO Award" being awarded to Mr. Cornel "handbriek" de Jongh (as pictured after the game), for his unbelievable break down the midfield of the Cracker Allstar Team the previous Monday night. Despite showing great pace, he decided to pull up his handbreak, toy around with the speedsters of the opposition and then swan-dive for the line...! Cornel, congrats on the award - gaan was nou jou broekie pel, hy is vol modder!!
